'ICC's USD 400 million offer far less than what India deserves'

BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary has said that the USD 400 million offer presented by the International Cricket Council (ICC) before India is "far less than what the country deserves", seeing BCCI's contribution to global cricket revenues. "Because it is far less than what India deserves fairly," ESPNcricinfo quoted Choudhary as saying to a leading daily when asked why he did not agree to the settlement deal. The BCCI secretary contended that the Indian market contributed 70 percent of the global cricket revenue and, therefore, it was natural for India to get the lion's share. Pakistan call off Bangladesh tour scheduled for July

Pakistan have cancelled their scheduled tour to Bangladesh later this year with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan stating that the decision was taken after mutual consent of both the cricket boards. Pakistan was scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and a T20I series on their tour to Bangladesh in July and August. "We had spoken about the possibility of hosting them [Bangladesh in Pakistan] this year," Khan was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. "Pakistan have now toured Bangladesh twice without them reciprocating, and we feel we cannot tour Bangladesh for the third straight time. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the tour, and will explore another window in the next year or so," he added. Bangladesh last toured Pakistan in 2007-08. BCCI to receive USD 293 million under ICC's revised financial model

Under ICC's revised financial model, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will receive USD 293 million from the International Cricket Council global revenues for the 2015-23 rights cycle. New Delhi: Veteran cricketer Harbhajan Singh on Wednesday lashed out against a Jet Airways pilot for racial discrimination against a fellow Indian passenger on the flight. The International Cricket Council's (ICC) board has voted to pass a new financial model to reverse a 2014 decision which effectively put India, England and Australia in control of the game's finances and administration. Under the new financial model and governance structure, the split of revenues from the ICC for the years 2016 to 2023 will be altered to address the imbalance currently favouring the three boards. The measure was passed by 13 votes to one, the governing body said in a statement on Thursday after its meetings in Dubai. Dubai: In what could be seen as a major setback to the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) influence in the International Cricket Council (ICC), the cricket board on Wednesday lost both the governance and the revenue votes at the crucial ICC meet.
