Win over Gujarat Lions one of my best games: Krunal Pandya

Mumbai Indians' all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who came out with a match-winning performance against Gujarat Lions in what was by far the most incredible game of IPL season 10, labeled the victory as one of his best wins across levels.

Krunal played the role of an all-rounder to perfection as he bowled a wonderful spell conceding only 14 runs and took three wickets apart from contributing with a crucial 29 runs off 20 balls to help Mumbai clinch a Super Over win against the Suresh Raina led-side at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Jasprit Bumrah went on to bowl a brilliant Super Over, which consisted of a no ball and a wide, and defended 11 runs to hand over his side their seventh victory.

Krunal, Hardik's brother, was adjudged Man of the Match.

"This would be one of the best, amongst the best. I have played a lot of games like this as well, not at this level at domestic level as well but this was like the best game so far," he said in a post-match interview with iplt20.com.

The 26-year-old further called the win a complete team effort, saying, "It was a total team effort, it was not that one individual played well. Like PP [Parthiv Patel] played really well."

"The way Malinga came back picking up two important wickets for us and well as Bumrah bowled really. Bhajji pa[Harbhajan Singh] really bowled well in between. In batting again Rana [Nitish Rana] and PP played really well."

Speaking about the chase, the left-handed spinner said, "We knew that the asking run-rate was not that far, we were away two-three big shots only. But wicket was also not that easy that you just go there and hit. I was making sure that I stretch the game till the 20 over and I see how it goes."

Krunal also heaped praise on Bumrah---who finished with figures of 2/32 in his four overs--- for his fantastic super-over as well, saying, "Basically like this game Bumrah bowled really well, so he was more confident so I guess we went with them."

"And like he bowled a terrific super over, like he bowled 8 balls with 2 no-balls and still they scored around 5-6 runs. It was great over by him, he is known for that yorkers at the death overs. That's his skill and he does it day-in and day-out," Krunal concluded.

London: Chelsea's Mateo Kovacic said they are a young team and need to improve a lot. Chelsea secured a 2-1 win over Hull City on Saturday in FA Cup. Michy Batshuayi scored the opening goal of the match in the sixth minute and Chelsea's second goal was scored in the 64th minute. "It was a tough game, as we knew that it would be, but we need to score in the first half two more goals. That's our problem in this moment but obviously we're happy to go through," the club's official website quoted Kovacic as saying. "It was because we didn't score on time - we had some chances and we didn't use them. In training, we are working on it but we are still a young team, a new team, and we need to improve a lot. We need to take our chances, which in this moment we are not doing great, but we have time to improve and I am sure we will do," he added.
