MS Dhoni slams blistering century in Vijay Hazare Trophy

If there were any doubts about MS Dhoni's batting prowess, it's time to put them aside as the Jharkhand skipper slammed a scintillating ton against Chhattisgarh in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Dhoni had earlier scored a fifty against Karnataka in the last game that Jharkhand lost. A day after, it was Chhattisgarh's time to face the music as Dhoni went on a rampage.

Dhoni smashed a 107-ball 129 and helped Jharkhand post 243 for the loss nine wickets at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

Jharkhand were in all sorts of trouble after being asked to bat as the Dhoni-led side were tottering at 43/5 at the end of 14 overs.

The arrival of Dhoni saw Jharkhand further slip as they lost their sixth wicket with just 57 runs on the board.

However, the former India skipper brought in all his experience and along with Shahbaz Nadeem revived Jharkhand's hopes.

Dhoni and Nadeem added 151 runs for the seventh wicket as Jharkhand recovered well to post a competitive total on board.

Dhoni bided time, got himself set in the middle and then unleashed fireworks as the Jharkhand captain reached his century in 94 balls.

Dhoni further upped the ante in the death overs and his knock was studded with 10 hits to the fence and six towering sixes.

Recently, Dhoni was removed as the skipper of Rising Pune Supergiants after he decided to step down from India captaincy.

But, the good news is, ever since Dhoni had stepped down, runs have been flowing from India's most successful captain's willow. This time, Chhatisgarh came in Dhoni's way and he didn't spare them.

India withdraw Smith protest as boards make peace in DRS row

India have withdrawn an official protest about the actions of Australia captain Steve Smith in the second test as the governing bodies of both countries moved to bring an end to the acrimony surrounding the ongoing four-match series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had earlier registered a complaint to the International Cricket Council (ICC) over Smith looking to the dressing room for guidance on whether to review an lbw decision during the Bengaluru match. Despite the hosts winning the test to level the series at 1-1 on Tuesday, India skipper Virat Kohli alleged the tourists had indulged in the practice throughout the match, sparking a war of words in the media and a robust response from Australia. The boards released a joint statement on Friday saying the chief executives of both bodies had met in Mumbai on Thursday and agreed to try and bring the focus "back to the game" ahead of next week's third test in Ranchi. "India has always cherished a c...

He is currently recovering from an ankle injury and last played for the club on September 30 against Arsenal. Solskjaer had said that the France international will be out of action till December. "It might be 45 minutes in the first game, it might be half an hour, it might be 90.
