Mukund recalled for Bangladesh Test, Dhawan dropped

Tamil Nadu opener Abhinav Mukund has been drafted into the India Test squad for the one-off Test match against Bangladesh.

The Test match is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad from February 9.

Mukund, who scored 849 runs in the domestic season will be the third opener as the selectors have dropped Shikhar Dhawan in the 16-man squad.

The Tamil Nadu skipper who last played a Test match for India in 2011 against England scored four centuries and three half-centuries in the recently concluded Ranji Trophy.

As expected, a fit Wriddhiman Saha, who scored a match-winning double century in the Irani Cup, has returned to the side.

Saha's return forced Parthiv Patel out of the side despite the Gujarat skipper's match-winning century in the Ranji Trophy final.

Middle-order batsman Ajinkya Rahane who has recovered from a fracture has returned into the side and so as off-spinner Jayant Yadav.

Murali Vijay was also included in the side after the India opener successfully recuperated from his shoulder injury.

R Ashwin will lead the spin department along with Ravindra Jadeja, Amit Mishra and Jayant.

Among the pacers, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya have been picked as Mohammed Shami, who is undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury was left out.

This will be the first time Bangladesh will play a Test in India.

Pogba is one of best players when in form: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Leeds [UK], Dec 7 (ANI): Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised midfielder Paul Pogba, saying that he is one of the best players in the world when he is in good touch. "Paul is going to play when he gets his fitness. He is one of the best players in the world when he's in form and we just need to give him time to be 100 per cent fit," Goal.com quoted Solskjaer as saying. Pogba has endured a frustrating 2019-20 campaign to date, having only managed five Premier League appearances in total due to a string of fitness issues.
