Sania Mirza-Martina Hingis win opener at WTA Finals

Defending champions Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis defeated Chinese Taipei's Chan Hao-Ching and Chan Yung-Jan 7-6 7-5 to kick-off their campaign at the WTA Finals in Singapore on Friday.

Playing their first match since August, the Indo-Swiss duo saw off the dangerous Chan Sisters in straight sets.

Along with Mirza, Kristina Mladenovic, Caroline Garcia and Bethanie Mattek-Sands are the others in hunt for the year-end No.1 doubles ranking.

Sania, the current No.1, has to defend the title with Hingis in order to keep the others at bay.

Leeds [UK], Dec 7 (ANI): Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised midfielder Paul Pogba, saying that he is one of the best players in the world when he is in good touch. "Paul is going to play when he gets his fitness. He is one of the best players in the world when he's in form and we just need to give him time to be 100 per cent fit," Goal.com quoted Solskjaer as saying. Pogba has endured a frustrating 2019-20 campaign to date, having only managed five Premier League appearances in total due to a string of fitness issues.
