There is another factor that will play a huge role in deciding the fate of the match played at the Feroz Shah Kotla, and that's the toss. The team that wins it will want to chase here and that gives the team a huge advantage.
The Kotla pitch has something for the spinners if you bowl first, and nothing for both spinners and seamers when you bowl second.
Apart from the brilliance of Angelo this was one reason why Sri Lanka recovered from 17 for 5 to get within touching distance of England's score of 171.
Santner and Ish Sodhi have been bowling like seasoned subcontinent spinners on these pitches, if they bowl second, they will get neutralised, which means NZ lose their big strength, their main weapon that has got them to win all their super 10 games.
England batting is running into some good form, guys like Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe root and Jos Buttler can be unstoppable in this format. Spin can put a dampener on them but only if the spinners get to bowl first.
On the batting front, NZ have depth but England I think have the fire power, as for the bowling well, NZ have bowling options for all kinds of pitches, dry turning, seam friendly and flat batting pitches. England not as blessed in that aspect.
NZ is the better side when you look at all this, but as I said earlier the toss unfortunately decides more than who does what first.
