Ronaldo to open his first Pestana CR7 hotel in Marrakech, Morocco

Lisbon: Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo is scheduled to open his first Perstana CR7 hotel in Marrakech, Morroco, in Africa in 2019, Chief Development Officer of Pestana Hotel Group Jose Roquette announced here. The Pestana CR7 Lifestyle Hotels is a joint venture set up by Ronaldo and Portugal's largest hotel chain where CR7 represents Cristiano Ronaldo's shirt number, reports Xinhua news agency. ISL: Doungel first Indian to score hat-trick in ISL 4

Guwahati: Seiminlen Doungel became the first Indian footballer to score a hat-trick in the ongoing Hero Indian Super League (ISL) as NorthEast United FC stunned Chennaiyin FC 3-1 here on Friday. Doungel netted in the 42nd, 46th and 68th minutes as the hosts registered their third win in 10 matches. They remained second in the table with 10 points - three ahead of Delhi Dynamos, whereas Chennaiyin were static at the second spot with 20 points. NE United had scored just four goals in their nine matches prior to this clash against Chennaiyin. There was urgency but no direction to the home team's attack and most moves fizzled out before reaching the danger zone. Saudi women make history, attend a football match

Riyadh: Saudi women made a new history on Friday by attended the Saudi professional League game in Jeddah, an activity that was limited to men for decades. The Saudi government allowed women to observe the game with other family members at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium, Al Arabiya local news reported on Friday. The move came after the decision to allow females to drive effective from the mid of this year and the opening of cinema theatres. To prepare for the change, the kingdom has designated "family sections" in the stands for women. The stadiums have also been fitted with female restrooms and separate entrances and parking lots for female spectators. On Saturday, the national stadium in the capital, Riyadh, will open its gates for women to attend a soccer game. ATK, FC Goa match delayed after accident at Goa airport

Kolkata: The Indian Super League (ISL) match between ATK and FC Goa, slated to take place at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan here on Wednesday, has been delayed by at least an hour in the aftermath of a MiG-29K aircraft catching fire after skidding off the runway at Goa's Dabolim International Airport. "Hero Indian Super League's home match of ATK will be delayed by an hour today, due to unavoidable circumstances. "The League match number 37 was to kick-off at 8:00 pm (IST) but now has been pushed by an hour considering the expected late arrival of FC Goa to Kolkata," Football Sports Development Limited, the organisers of the ISL, said in a statement. "The match between ATK and FC Goa will be delayed for a minimum of one hour," the statement added.
